"There is an inner conflict that wages within us. Bringing those parts together is a path to inner peace."
Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Pittsburgh since the 1990's. I provide a therapeutic approach that helps you overcome the hurts and harms from past or present circumstances. These past wounds can manifest as physical ailments, pain/fatigue, emotional distress/anxiety, mental anguish and self-critical thinking. If you find yourself stuck in a pattern or continue to attract similar experiences to yourself, my therapeutic approach addresses these issues and can help you release them.
My belief is that underlying all ailments and imbalances are repressed emotions that have been internalized and can cause emotional, mental and physical conditions. Through this process you can heal your body, mind and spirit, reconnect with your authentic self, gain personal empowerment, and deepen your relationships with yourself and others.
I have been involved in holistic health and have facilitated the healing journey of my clients through combining holistic psychotherapy, EMDR, EFT or Tapping, breathwork, anxiety/stress reduction and other counseling therapies. I combine these with conventional counseling approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapies to support the healing and personal transformation of my clients.
I trained with Caroline Myss, Ph.D. and Norman Shealy. M.D., Ph.D. and also taught Holistic Approaches to Counseling and Contemplative Approaches to Stress Management to psychotherapists at Chatham University in their Master's Level Counseling Program. I also worked at Shadyside Hospital's Center for Complementary Medicine along side medical doctors to blend holistic approaches with allopathic medicine. My diverse background has made me keenly aware of the body/mind/spirit connection and the role that it plays in healing your life.
I have presented my research on anxiety at the National Conference of ISSSEEM and presented talks and workshops to thousands of people on healing the body, mind and uplifting one's spirit.
